What's On Listings

A popular module within the Portal Constructor content management system is the events calendar engine. This is used in a variety of formats to enable users to search through listings of events either through free text search or through searching by category, date, date range or calendar view.

As with all Portal Constructor modules, the look and feel of the events listings can be tailored to meet the bespoke needs of the individual website. This module has been deployed across Iliffe newspaper websites, to drive its highly popular what’s on entertainment sections.

The engine allows outside organisations and individuals to upload events directly to the site, with the newsrooms actively encouraging regular event organisations to use this facility. The journalists are then able to import events listings by category, date range and location directly into their print editorial system. An example of the events listings calendar can be seen in action here.
